The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is seeking a highly skilled Intelligence Analyst to provide on-site support to Program Managers in advancing warfighter technologies, enabling strategic decision-making, and supporting Special Access Program (SAP) integration.


Top-tier candidates will deliver expert intelligence analysis to DARPA Program Managers (PMs), Technical Office Directors (ODs), and the DARPA Director’s Office (DIRO). The role requires critical examination of highly technical and exquisite intelligence to inform DARPA’s cutting-edge research and development (R&D) portfolio. Analysts will prepare and deliver insightful, high-impact briefings in support of new-start programs, active initiatives, and technology transitions.


Ideal candidates bring deep expertise in analyzing SAP technologies, interpreting complex intelligence reporting, and understanding national security-related science and technology. Successful candidates demonstrate a strong capacity to rapidly learn new topics and identify threats to U.S. national security systems. Prior experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Intelligence Community (IC) is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the research, collection, and production of timely and mission-relevant intelligence to inform DARPA’s technology programs and warfighter needs.
  • Conduct multi-source analysis (OSINT, SIGINT, HUMINT, GEOINT, etc.) to identify and assess current and emerging threats to U.S. technological superiority.
  • Provide tailored intelligence assessments and threat analyses to support capability development, threat validation, and risk mitigation.
  • Engage with the science and technology (S&T) community to inform R&D investment decisions and evaluate future technology landscapes.
  • Assess adversary capabilities and risks related to microelectronics, biotechnology, supply chain vulnerabilities, and foreign investment in critical technologies.
  • Deliver in-depth analysis on electronic warfare, cyber operations, threat finance, and economic warfare.
  • Advise SAP owners and technology development stakeholders on threat environments and countermeasures.
  • Support operational planning by employing modeling and simulation tools to forecast adversary actions and assess strategic scenarios.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Political Science, Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Graduate of a U.S. military or civilian intelligence training program (e.g., DIA, NSA, CIA, DHS, or DoD Intelligence Schools).
  • U.S. citizenship and active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing CAP/SAP-related intelligence products.
  • Prior work in the U.S. Intelligence Community or related defense/intelligence organizations.
  • Familiarity with SAP protocols, systems, and technology protection frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical writing, oral communication, and briefing skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field (STEM, Intelligence, Political Science, etc.).
  • Experience supporting joint warfighters or combatant commands with actionable intelligence.
  • Understanding of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (e.g., JCIDS, DAS) and the integration of intelligence in technology development.
  • Active Counterintelligence (CI) or Full-Scope Polygraph clearance.
