Senior Program Manager

Job Summary

This position supports the USAF B-1 Systems Program Office, Tinker AFB, OK.  This position is for a program manager providing support to the B-1 Bomber sustainment programs.  The B-1 Sustainment programs consist of a wide portfolio of structures, software, com/nav, defensive systems, and weapons areas of concentration.   This position will perform project and logistics management functions in support of updates to and sustainment of these programs.  This is a 100% direct labor position that will require intermittent travel within the Continental US. 

Essential Job Functions

• Assist IPT lead in managing cost, schedule, and performance of assigned projects.
• Develop acquisition, logistics, and sustainment strategies to meet program requirements for hardware and software upgrades, studies and analyses, and support tasks.
• Create, collaborate, and/or review project documentation, to include budget requests and spend plans, statements of work/performance work statements, purchase request packages including associated documents, schedules, market research reports, trade studies, and briefing charts.
• Identify tasks required to satisfy requirements; plan for tasks and identify necessary resources, assign and coordinate responsibilities with IPT members from other functional areas, and track task execution.
• Participate in programmatic and technical reviews; track and analyze progress towards meeting cost, schedule, and performance goals and requirements.
• Assess risks to program success and recommend courses of action to the IPT lead based on risks and mitigation strategies.
• Develop, assess, and recommend strategies for supporting and sustaining updated and modified weapons system components, both hardware and software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree highly desired from an accredited college or university.
• Ten (10) years’ experience (or 6 years with a MS degree) in program or project management.
• Familiarity with structure and execution of DoD acquisition programs, including applicable types of funding, contract types, and quality certifications and requirements.
• Demonstrated skill in managing projects to meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements, from project initiation to completion and close-out, in a budget-constrained, time-sensitive environment.
• DAWIA Level 2 in Program Management, Logistics Management, or a related discipline or certification preferred.
• Strong Organizational and Project Management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required, MS Project desired.
• Must be eligible for Top Secret security clearance (or higher);
